New members of the John Dewey Society will receive two classic books—thanks to the Tanner Foundation.* The books include: John Dewey’s The Sources of a Science of Education and Dan Tanner’s Crusade for Democracy: Progressive Education at the Crossroads. Dan Tanner’s book provides a detailed history of the John Dewey Society.

The John Dewey Society encourages, through its publications and programs, careful and responsible examination of our most basic educational and cultural commitments. All members receive annual subscriptions to the Society’s journal, Education and Culture (2 issues per year).
In addition, JDS members can also choose to subscribe to Educational Theory for $25/year. This option is reflected in the membership price chart below.
Members who would like to pay electronically are encouraged to pay their yearly dues through Paypal by clicking the appropriate box on the table below. Membership prices are determined according to income (see table below).
