The John Dewey Society is sponsoring a panel at the 41st annual meeting of the Society for the Advancement of American Philosophy to be held in Denver, CO on March 6-8, 2014. Richard Shusterman will be presenting “Somaesthetics and the Art of Eating.” Ray Boisvert, Professor of Philosophy at Siena College will be giving the response, with Aaron Stoller of North Carolina State University chairing the session. Shusterman is the Dorothy F. Schmidt Eminent Scholar in the Humanities, Professor of Philosophy and English, and Director of the Center for Body, Mind and Culture at Florida Atlantic University. He is the author Thinking Through the Body: Essays in Somaesthetics (2012) and Body Consciousness: A Philosophy of Mindfulness and Somaesthetics (2008) among many other works.
